Kerr Trailers has been building high quality Slide Trax™ sliding axle trailers since 2008 and has now added a well-designed chain-drive system to easily load and unload empty sea containers.
The Kerr chain-drive sliding axle container trailer comes in 24' and 42' lengths with a loading angle of 12 degrees (24') and 8 degrees (42').
This trailer has an independent hydraulic power unit made up of a 14HP gas engine with electronic fuel injection, hydraulic pump, oil tank and multiple section valve.
This system is enclosed in a neat and compact, ventilated compartment and protected from the elements. A great feature is the enclosed, lockable and lighted control panel made from brushed stainless steel engraved with ceramic (extremely durable).
This Kerr trailer comes with flush-mount retractable twist-locks, which are a simple, fast, safe and reliable way to anchor down a container and meet DOT regulations, without needing straps or chains. (rearmost anchor is a HD pin)
The chain-drive is made up of a grade 100 chain, a high quality worm gear speed reducer and specialized sprockets built for durability and are precision machined. The chain is protected from unnecessary wear with a UHMW plastic wear plate in the bottom of the track.
This trailer also features our new and improved, engineer certified gooseneck, which replaces our reliable older design with a nicer look and some technical advantages like rounded corners and lower reach towards the truck hitch.
The overall design allows for autonomous, fast, safe, and smooth delivery of sea containers to their destination.
